The encouragement of others is sometimes all it takes for an individual to seek help. At LESC, we make it easy to refer clients to our programs and services. Whether you are a concerned family member, friend, community partner, or healthcare agency, we willingly accept referrals for our alcohol and drug treatment programs in New York City.
To refer a client to LESC, you can:
Call us directly at 212-566-7931 or reach out via email at info@lesc.org to speak with our team about the admissions process.
At LESC, we welcome new admissions with open arms. If you have a client referral, our team is ready to be the partner you need. Our outpatient and residential substance use disorder treatment programs are accepting new clients and can often accommodate them with our same-day admissions process. One of our knowledgeable intake counselors will guide you through the process and facilitate admission for your client referral.
To be eligible, individuals should either be currently using substances or have a history of substance dependence. If someone is dealing with co-occurring mental health issues alongside substance use, rest assured that we offer psychiatric services to address those needs as well. Additionally, if you're a family member or significant other adversely affected by a loved one's substance use disorder, our doors are open to provide support.
LESC's alcohol and drug rehab programs in NYC proudly welcome all individuals seeking recovery, regardless of race, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, or background.
We understand that many people are concerned about how treatment might impact their employment or public assistance benefits. At LESC, we prioritize protecting your livelihood and ensuring that your basic needs are met while you're in recovery.
When it comes to employment, you have protections under the law. In most cases, you cannot be terminated simply for seeking treatment as long as you are actively participating in a program and adhering to any necessary guidelines. Some employers, particularly in jobs that require drug testing, may have specific policies regarding substance use, but seeking treatment often strengthens your standing, as it shows you are taking proactive steps toward recovery.
For those receiving public assistance or benefits, entering treatment should not disrupt your eligibility. Our team is here to help you navigate these concerns and will work with you to maintain the support you need while going through one of our residential or outpatient treatments.
If you have concerns, we encourage you to reach out to the LESC team so we can provide personalized guidance on your rights during treatment.
You do not need to have insurance to enroll. What pays for the stay at Su Casa is Public assistance (HRA). You will need to be eligible to receive public assistance to cover the cost of treatment. If you are receiving SSI/SSD or other compensation monies, you will be required to pay for your treatment. The amount will be determined by the Entitlements department and will be based on the amount you receive monthly.
Yes, we have open beds available.
You will need to contact the intake department to begin the screening process. Requirements for eligibility are Opioid Use Disorder (Heroin, Fentanyl or Opioid pills) and you are looking to either be induced on Methadone, maintained or tapered off in a residential setting.
Yes, after 30 days and with the staff’s approval
You will be able to smoke outside of the facility with the staff’s approval.
If a person does not have a GED, they would need to take the test, pass it, and then would be awarded a GED.
If a person has a GED or high school diploma and wants a copy, they can send away for one through the Department of Education. Clients need to simply fill out the form, submit it, and if the Department of Education can successfully verify that the person has had a GED or High School diploma, they will send a copy to the requestor.
If you do not possess a copy of your birth certificate and were born in NYC, you can still obtain one. You will require a photo ID and should visit 125 Worth Street, New York City. The cost for a copy is approximately $18, and, in most cases, it will be issued on the same day. Be prepared to provide information such as your mother's and father's names, your birth name, your address, and the borough of the hospital where you were born.
Individuals without any form of identification will have to begin by obtaining a birth certificate. See above.
Entitlements Department staff will assist with information and guidance to obtain Medicaid upon enrollment in one of LESC’s treatment programs.
If individuals have an active Medicaid case, they can attend the HRA PA Center, and the Entitlements Department staff can call and have a card sent to them for NYS of health.
The Entitlements staff at LESC will inform and guide you through the process of acquiring these cards.
If you are concerned about your employer knowing that you are in treatment, you can use your commercial insurance without worry. Your employer will not have access to your individual claim information. Privacy laws typically protect this information.
